Financing of rental deposits
What is the rental deposit?
This is a help for people wishing to rent a home and but that not have the financial means to pay for the rental deposit required by the landlord.
How much is it?
The amount can not exceed 3 months rent and must be less than or equal to 4.837 € (as of 1.1.2018)
What are the granting conditions ?
YOU HAVE TO...
• reside legally within the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
• have entered into a lease agreement on the private market.
• Have an income less than 2.5 times the gross amount of social inclusion income (REVIS).
• have entered into a rental deposit agreement with a financial institution.
• not to be the owner, the co-owner or the usufructuary of another dwelling in Luxembourg or abroad.
• have a monthly rent of € 1,612 or less to pay (as of 1.1.2018) and not exceeding 1/3 of your gross income.
THE PROPERTY HAS TO...
• to be located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
• serve as your main and permanent home.

What is the Rent subsidy?
It is aid for low-income households who rent a home.
How much is it?
The amount of this monthly assistance can - depending on the income and the composition of the household - go up to a maximum of 300 €.
What are the granting conditions ?
YOU HAVE TO...
• reside legally within the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
• Have a lease agreement that complies with the law on rent lease.
• not to be the owner, the co-owner or the usufructuary of another dwelling in Luxembourg or abroad.
• not to have an income higher than the limit provided by the law.
• pay a monthly rent of more than 25% of your net income.
• have, at the time of the application, regular income for at least 3 months.
THE PROPERTY HAS TO...
• to be located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
• be rented out through the private house sector and therefore not rented out by a public body (eg. Housing Fund, SNHBM, municipality, Social Estate Agency).
• serve as your main and permanent home.
